Urban Adventure: Learning to drive a stick shift

A confused driver recently smashed up Jen’s beloved Vibe. It did not go on to live another day.

After much searching, debating and fretting we found a Mini Cooper S at a classic car dealer and brought it home with us.

The only catch is that it’s a six speed and Jen doesn’t know how to drive a stick! She does look exceedingly cute in it though.

After a swinging by our parent’s houses to show off the new car, it time for the Grant School of Driving.

As Jen pulled away in the car for the first time, with her whole family watching… She didn’t stall. GREAT SUCCESS!

We then took off for the Elk Park for some low-traffic practice on hills. The hills weren’t intimidating, but the elk might have been!

We bought the car on a Saturday and by Sunday Afternoon, Jen was ready for a 100 mile drive through the city and down the river roads.
